“Nai Raahen”(1959) was produced by Devendra Goel and directed by Brij Sadanah for Goel Cine Corporation, Bombay. The movie had Ashok Kumar, Geeta Bali, Anoop Kumar, Shubha Khote, Nazeer Hussain, Madan Puri, S K Prem, Radhakishan, Neelambai, Haroon, Mohan Choti, Nandini, Umar Khan, Baby Leela, Baby Nazma, Nazeer Kashmiri, Chanda bai, Nirma Kumar, Tushar etc in it.
The movie had seven songs in it. Five songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the sixth song from ” Nai Raahen”(1959) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Geeta Dutt and Lata. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.
Only audio of the song is available. From the sounds of it, it appears that the song is picturised on two ladies. One is dressed as a male and is lip syncing in Geeta Dutt’s voice while the other lady playing her lover is li syncing in Lata’s voice.
This song is a rare song. The movie had four lyricists in it. It is the only song penned by Majrooh Sultanpuri in the movie. Other songs were penned by Shailendra (3), Gopal Singh Nepali (2) and Prem Dhawan (1).
With this song, Majrooh Sultanpuri now has 1100 songs in the blog as a lyricist. He is only the second lyricist (after Rajinder Krishan) to touch this mark in the blog.
